Spring Refresh at the Playground

With the sun out and Easter holidays upon us, the Parish Council’s focus has shifted to the Playground. We hope you will have noticed the sparkling spring clean every piece of play equipment has had, from the basketball hoops right through to the climbing frames – all the algae is gone! The playground surface has been swept, the whole area edged and around the benches and equipment weeded.  Our maintenance contractor, Mr Hedge, has been asked to come and tame the hedge and brambles that are starting to sneak in on the east side, and strim back the long grass around the edges.

And our much-loved zipwire is soon to be up and working again in time for summer! A date has at last been booked to replace the wooden top-bars which developed a fault. Apologies for the delay, but we were able to secure replacements from the original manufacturer under warranty which saves the village funds.  While we’re at it, we’ll also be replacing a couple of other parts to help keep the zipwire flying smoothly and reliably for years to come.

Also, please remember you can always book out the multi-sport courts (tennis, basketball or football) by ringing the Parish Clerk on 01444 220 499 or email [email protected]

Future plans are being developed by our two recently joined Councillors – Adam Parsons and Ross Winser, both of whom have young families who love our playground. Adam and Ross are working together to identify longer term improvements – so watch this space!
