South East Water has announced changes to the Temporary Use Ban (hosepipe ban) currently in place across Sussex.
As of 10 October, several exemptions that had previously allowed limited hosepipe use have now been removed.
The withdrawn exemptions include:
-
Watering new lawns at domestic premises
-
Watering trees, whips, saplings, and hedges planted before the ban and within the last three years
-
Watering food crops at domestic premises or private allotments
This means that any previous permissions to use a hosepipe under these exemptions no longer apply. The only remaining permitted use of a hosepipe is for health and safety purposes.
